Your supposed to drink at least 64 ounces and if your sweating or have diarrhea then you should drink up to two liters. If you start feeling sick just stop drinking it, also if you gotta pee do it otherwise you can die which is extremely hard to do but is possible.

You need two litres or so a day. It does not have to be water. It can come from food or other drinks.

When you're thirsty, drink. Beer. It's 95% water, you know.
As far as ounces goes, you could probably get by on a quart (32 oz.) per day if you had to, but I'd suggest slightly higher. |

It depends on how active you are. Heavy activity in a hot environment can push your fluid needs to a quart an hour.

Medically speaking, no one knows where this 8 glasses of water a day comes from. It’s certainly not a medically researched figure, as intake of water will vary widely according to climactic conditions. The 8 glasses of water is probably promoted by the bottled water companies as part of their promotion. You manufacture water in your body as part of your metabolism. It is also in food as well as in what you drink. In hot conditions such as you are talking about, you need to avoid dehydration. However, over hydration resulting in going to the toilet a lot is also not healthy as this can flush vital trace elements and minerals out of your body. Balance is essential. Whilst beer is mostly water it also contains alcohol which is a diuretic – makes you pee more and therefore adds to dehydration. Three of the most common factors that effect bladder function are a beer before and a cigarette after (work it out). The best indicator is the colour of your urine. If it’s a very pale straw colour, your liquid intake is about right. Any darker and you need more fluid. Completely clear and you’ve overdone it.
