How long should I cook 6 chicken thighs in the crock pot. The recipe that I am using says to cube the chicken and put it in the crock pot but I did not want to cut up raw chicken. It says 5-6 hours on low but that doesn't seem like enough time to me. Can someone tell me how long I should cook them on low in the crock pot?

5 to 6 hours is about right on low but you can leave it for 8 hours so the meat is fall off the bone tender. Leaving the bone in gives more rich flavour. You can add some white wine too and some mushrooms and onions. Enjoy with crusty baguette! {:-)

I would increase the time a bit or switch the temp to high and cook for the 5-6 hours.
Boning chicken legs sucks so I'm with you on this! I would just follow the recipe and change the cook temp to high. If you want to keep the temp on low I would increase the cook time to 6-7 hours.- |

I cook whole thighs in my slow cooker 6-8 hours on low or 3-4 hours on high. I check the temperature to make sure they're done, to be safe. Bone-in chicken thighs should be cooked to an internal temperature of 170 degrees F on an instant read thermometer.

Once the crock pot comes to temperature it only takes 1 to 2 hours to cook the meat to make it safe to eat. The rest of the time is to break down the proteins so it is tender and falls off the bone (which should happen in 5 to 6 hours of slow cooking.) Only if your smoking the chicken it might take longer. I am assuming there are other liquid ingredients in the pot too otherwise good luck cleaning your crockpot.

It depends on you crock pot if you are having to put them on top of each other I would go with high for 5-6 or low for 7-8 if they are side by side in a big crock pot I would say high for 4-5 or low for 6-7. I use the crock pot all the time even at work and it does make the food much tastier.
