Can a vegan eat foods made with yeast? Is are those little yeast critters considered an animal?

...considering it's a living thing, I don't think so. Well...they do eat plants so I really don't know. Hopefully a vegan will answer this question because now you got me curious.
*edit* Now why would anyone give me a thumbs down? All I did was ask a question that did not. or should not, offend anyone. People these days, way too soft... |

Yeast is a bacteria, if you can't eat yeast you better not bath, brush your teeth, or blow your nose.

Yes. Yeast is not an animal, but a fungus.
