I know fajitas come from los caballeros del Tejas, and fish tacos come from health nuts in Caliland, but which one do you think is the best? TexMex is mostly greasy, cheesy and full of meat. CalMex is more nutritional and healthy, which do you prefer?

You can get fish tacos at pretty much any Mexican coastal city, in some form or another, so I think you may be off in categorizing it as a Californian phenomenon.

TexMex all the way, fish tacos are revolting. I know of no one who can stand that crap.

California Mexican food is closer to the real thing. It is so much better. I had fish tacos from a TexMex place and it was gross. In California you get a breaded white fish with cabbage and a white sauce that is wonderful.

I have also had fish tamales in Tijuana Mexico and that was really gross! Especially when the vendor told me it was pork and that was what I was expecting.

Personally, I love Arizona Mex. Not the yes/no answer you were looking for. But when I lived in Tucson, we had alot of genuine dishes with nice white cheeses and wonderful traditional deserts. But also, there were fajitas. And you could get all the greasy tacos you want at lunch trucks everywhere. And California mex was heavily present with lots of fresh seafood, which I liked a lot.
    But Arizona Mex rules!
And for the record, Atlanta Mex blows greasy, goopy, eeew

TexMex is SO much closer to real mexican food! Look at how many mexicans are in Texas compared to California. Texas has many more entrances to the US from Mexico therefore more mexicans. I have ate in Mexico a lot and most tex mex resaurants are just about as good. Not quite because nothing compares to home made mexican food! Oh and Its not real mexican food if its not made with a lot of manteca aka grease! So is california mexican food is more healthy then HAHA its not real mexican! Go to mexico, they could care less how healthy it is, as long as it tastes good!
